MILESTONES Achieved

  • Road Safety Year in Delhi
  • Driving training with Skoda powered simulators
  • Founder Member National Road Safety Council headed by late Rajesh Pilot
  • Eye test of 4500 DTC drivers
  • Setting up eye camps with free spectacles at Sanjoy Gandhi Transport Nagar in collaboration with MOST and Delhi government
  • Pioneering Simulators equipped driving school with the financial help of MRTH and inaugurated by Maj Gen B.C khanduri, Minister MRTH
  • Conducted research and studies of 15000 truck drivers on their psychological aptitude
  • AAUI approved as SIRO
  • Organized Camps in the slums colonies to benefit juggi jhopdi dwellers.
  • Launched TV Serial Road Watch and Rail Road Watch with 200 weekly episodes telecast 1994-2004
  • Trained more than 150,000 Truck and heavy motor vehicle drivers and upgraded – developed their skills on simulators and with the syllabus started specifically in consultation with the transport department.
  • Started HIV/AIDS Orientation for commercial drivers – ongoing programme.
  • On-going training program FRTCC to impart skills to commercial drivers to help road victims and to enhance percentage of preventable deaths.
  • Invited by press Mr Malhotra wrote weekly columns on safe driving and accident prevention techniques in HT and Indian Express.
  • Represented India on Global Platform in making PPTs, Lectures and submission of papers
  • Elected Member of FIA World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism- India gets a seat first time after---- years.
  • Organised Seminars in collaboration with the Ministry of Surface Transport (MOST)
  • Organised World General Assembly (AIT) Geneva in 1993 in New Delhi, when there was turmoil and India was passing through hard times due to bomb explosions in Mumbai
  • Promoted India as a tourist destination in such difficult times with hundreds of delegates representing 69 Countries participated in New Delhi
  • 100 dedicated persons to act as AAUI Hon-Road Safety Ambassadors to collect and disseminate information on roads, violations and traffic signals to the UTTIPEC
  • Serving on UTTIPEC since 2009, as member of various groups and co-chairman of working Group IV.
  • Member of Special Task Force constituted by Delhi government under the order of High Court.
Contribution

His contribution to the motoring community on road safety through his regular weekly column in Hindustan Times and Indian Express has been widely acknowledged. Mr. Malhotra has also reached out to the vast base of road users in India through his infotainment TV serials "Hello Motorists" and "Road Watch" that were telecast on India's National Channel for more than 200 weeks.

Most Modern Driving Training

He established the most modern driving training school in Indiaequipped with state-of-the-art electronic driving simulators as theprime audio-visual training aid. Thus he brought about a revolution indriver training in the year 1989.The idea was to lay proper foundationfor training the drivers in India.

Mini Employment Exchange

He has launched Mini Employment Exchange in the institution for placement of LMV/HMV drivers. It was inaugurated by Delhi Government's new Transport Minister Hon'ble Shri Ramakant Go swami on August 28, 2012.his would go a long way as a source of avenue to offer employment to drivers from average/poor families and lending a hand to poverty alleviation.

Activities

Mr. Malhotra has also been the active member of Road Safety Programme Implementation Committee set-up in the yesteryears by Union Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways.

Participation

His participation in the fields of road safety and environment speaks volumes of his contribution, which has been appreciated by the Government and motoring community at large.
